Jason Peters injury update: Eagles tackle expected back April 1

Philadelphia believes Peters will be ready on April 1, a great bit of news for him and the organization.

Head coach Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles expect left tackle Jason Peters to be back with team come April 1, according to Zach Berman.

Peters has had a rough go of it lately, missing all of the 2012 season with a torn Achilles. Now Peters seems to be healthy, something of massive importance to an Eagles team trying to rebound from another nightmare season that saw longtime coach Andy Reid get fired.

In his nine NFL years, Peters has proven to be one of the best left tackles in all of football. Philadelphia was able to land the hulking 6'4, 340-pound stalwart in a 2009 trade with the Buffalo Bills.

In that deal, the Eagles gave up a first, fourth and sixth round pick, which Buffalo turned into offensive lineman Eric Wood, tight end Shawn Nelson and linebacker Danny Batten.

The one issue with Peters over his career has been durability. Peters has only played 16 games twice in his career, and not since 2006.
