Hakeem Nicks is expected to be ready for the start of spring offseason activities for the New York Giants, according to Eli Manning via Jenny Vrentas of the Neward Star-Ledger. Nicks struggled to stay on the field last season, mostly due to nagging foot and knee injuries. He could be back practicing for the Giants in May, however, putting him line to be ready for the start of the 2013 season.
Hakeem Nicks injury update: Giants WR expects to be ready for spring
Hakeem Nicks will be ready for spring team activities with the Giants, according to Eli Manning. Nicks struggled with foot and knee injuries throughout the 2012 season.

Nicks would reportedly be full go, which is good news for the Giants. Coming off their Super Bowl championship season, New York fell from fifth to 12th in passing during the regular season last year. Eli Manning threw for nearly 1,000 fewer yards, and the lack of a consistent deep threat certainly did not help.
Nicks failed to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in three seasons. On 53 receptions, he had 692 yards, good for a career-low 13.1 yards per reception and three touchdowns. Still, the Giants have made it clear that they view Nicks as a pivotal part of the offense, despite his injury history and underwhelming numbers last season. If he is truly 100 percent, Nicks will have a chance to reward the franchise’s faith in him next season and potentially earn a long-term contract before he becomes a free agent in 2014.
