Buccaneers owner Joel Glazer spoke candidly Tuesday about the disappointment of the 2012 season. When prodded, however, he put the blame on himself.

Glazer also refused to put blame on general manager Mark Dominik, who has come under fire from the fanbase at times for the Bucs’ recent futility. Via Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune:
“Every team has to win, that’s not just Mark Dominik or Coach Schiano,” Glazer said. “There’s nothing worse than losing. We’re as competitive as the next person. Mark and Coach Schiano have an excellent working relationship. They’ve earned each other’s trust and respect and that will pay dividends over the long term.
Glazer defended quarterback Josh Freeman, as well, noting that the December collapse may have had something to do with inopportune defensive lapses. While Glazer admitted that the play on the field and the result of the season was not what many had hoped, he placed the ultimate responsibility on himself.
“To me, one year without a playoff win is too long,” Glazer said. “Ten years is extremely disappointing, but I have great confidence we have the people in place to reverse that trend. It’s tough to win in this league, but it’s within everyone’s control to change their course. Ultimately, it falls on our shoulders as owners. We’re not going to hide from our responsibility. All we’re going to do is work our tails off that it doesn’t continue.”
