The Dallas Cowboys locked up quarterback Tony Romo with a six-year, $108 million contract extension that includes $55 million guaranteed.
Romo contract details

USA TODAY SportsThe most notable number is the fact that Romo received a $25 million signing bonus, spread out over the first five years of the contract in $5 million increments. There’s also the year-by-year base salaries to note: $1.5 million in 2013, $13.5 million in 2014, $17 million in 2015, $8.5 million in 2016, $14 million in 2017, $19.5 million in 2018, and $20.5 million in 2019.
Those are some pretty big numbers, especially when he gets to $17 million in 2015. If Romo finds himself playing poorly by that point, the contract numbers could lead to his release, though there’s $40 million in guaranteed money all together.
