Arkansas-Pine Bluff offensive tackle Terron Armstead will show off for NFL scouts at the Golden Lions' pro day Monday. It will be a busy day for scouts, as seven other pro days -- Alabama State, Alcorn State, Minnesota, North Dakota State, Troy, UAB and UMass -- are on the schedule.
Terron Armstead pro day 2013: Tackle prospect highlights busy day for NFL scouts
Terron Armstead played offensive tackle at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, but NFL scouts want to see what he can do at tight end.

While Armstead played tackle for the Golden Lions, scouts are interested to see what he can do at tight end. The 6’5, 306-pound prospect impressed at the NFL Combine, when he ran a surprising 4.71 40-yard dash. In addition to the speedy 40 time, which was a record for offensive linemen, he totaled 31 reps on the bench press and leaped 122 inches in the broadjump. That combination of speed, strength and agility has scouts curious about his abilities as a pass-catcher and should improve his draft stock quite a bit.
Right now, Armstead is expected to go in the second or third round of the upcoming NFL Draft. He’s a solid blocker in the pass and run game, and he should make a quality offensive lineman. But if he does well in tight end drills, Armstead may have a future running routes. He would certainly give a team a unique combination of size and skill in the passing game.
