Kevin Huber announces he signed 5-year deal with Bengals

Huber, who is coming off a career year, will be staying in Cincinnati for the foreseeable future.

Punter Kevin Huber has agreed to a contract extension with the Cincinnati Bengals. Huber tweeted out the news Friday afternoon, and noted the deal is for five years. Financial terms of the contract have not yet been released.

Huber is coming off a season in which he set career highs in average yards per punt (46.6) and average net yardage (42.0). He has spent his entire four-year NFL career with the Bengals, and he also played both his high school and college football in the city.

Huber averaged 44 yards per punt over his first four seasons. The team also has a deal to extend long snapper Clark Harris, and with those two players taken care of, the Bengals can shift their focus to resigning guys like Adam Jones, Terence Newman and Andre Smith.

The Bengals had $54 million available in cap space when the salary cap for the 2013 season was announced.
