The Kansas City Chiefs continued their busy offseason on Friday, agreeing to a three-year contract with cornerback Dunta Robinson, according to ESPN's Adam Shefter.

A week after being released by the Atlanta Falcons, Dunta Robinson has a new team after he agreed to a three-year contract with the Chiefs on Friday.

The deal comes a week after Robinson was released by the Atlanta Falcons. Since he was released, Robinson was eligible to sign immediately, even ahead of the start of free agency on March 12. Acquiring Robinson is just the latest move for Kansas City, which previously agreed to a trade for quarterback Alex Smith, re-signed wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and re-worked a number of other contracts.
The 30-year-old Robinson was one of the prizes on the 2010 free agent market, but was released in large part to his $8 million 2013 salary. While he’s never racked up large interception totals during his career, Robinson has proven to be durable. He started 63 of 64 possible games over the last four seasons. Robinson posted a plus-2.5 rating last season according to Pro Football Focus. The majority of that rating came from his run defense as he accumulated a minus-7.3 rating in pass coverage.
In Kansas City, Robinson will likely play on the opposite side of Brandon Flowers, giving the Chiefs a potentially solid cornerback duo.
