The Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals are very close to completing a trade to send quarterback Carson Palmer to the desert, according to Mike Silver of Yahoo.

The Oakland Raiders are on the verge of trading Carson Palmer to the Cardinals.

it's no surprise Oakland is trying to move on, especially now that quarterback Matt Flynn is officially in the fold.
Palmer has been on the block all offseason with the Raiders trying to move forward with a younger, cheaper player at quarterback. At 33 years old, Palmer is getting up there in age and likely won’t be around when the Raiders are ready to win anyway.
Oakland tried to restructure Palmer’s deal but the veteran from USC would have none of it, hurting the salary cap situation for general manager Reggie McKenzie and the Raiders. His cap hit is $13 million for 2013.
For the Cardinals, Palmer represents a stopgap for new head coach Bruce Arians while he and the organization continue to look for a long-term answer. The team released Kevin Kolb already and has brought in Drew Stanton, who currently is the odds-on favorite to be the starter.
Last season, Palmer was serviceable, throwing for 4,018 yards while tossing 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The yardage total was Palmer's highest since 2007, when he threw for 4,131 as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.
