The 2013 NFL Draft is drawing ever and ever closer, and we still don’t have anything resembling a consensus top-10 draft picks, much less first round. Case in point: A quick comparison between Todd McShay’s most recent mock draft (Insider required) and SB Nation’s latest three-round projection. Here’s how the top-10 picks break down in both mocks.

The 2013 NFL Draft is almost two weeks away, and mock draft experts still have no idea what’s going to happen in the Top 10, much less beyond. Just compare what Todd McShay and SB Nation had to say.

Seven names appear in both Top 10’s, but just one, Texas A&M offensive tackle Luke Joeckel, is in the same spot on both lists. In fact, outside of the Chiefs’ pick, none of the nine other teams in the top 10 are even projected to pick players at the same position across the two mocks, despite deep defensive tackle and outside linebacker classes.
Geno Smith is, according to a good portion of experts, the top 2013 quarterback prospect. Exactly where he projects in the draft has been a subject of much contention over recent months, however. McShay tabbed him going to the Browns at No. 6 overall, noting that "general manager Mike Lombardi hasn't hidden the fact that he was not a fan of the decision to pick QB Brandon Weeden." SB Nation still has Smith going No. 2, noting that "when a team needs a quarterback, that is the team's biggest need."
Interestingly, both mocks have the Bills making arguably the biggest reach of the top 10 with the No. 8 overall pick. Both Tavon Austin and Chance Warmack are considered among the best at their positions, but Austin (No. 13 pick in McShay’s draft) comes with size concerns and Warmack (No. 18 in SB Nation’s draft) plays a position that rarely gets top pick consideration.
There are several even bigger points of contention. Florida State defensive end Bjoern Werner lands with Tennesee at No. 10 overall on SB Nation's board, but he drops to No. 28 with the Denver Broncos on McShay's board. Meanwhile, McShay likes Eddie Lacy to be the only running back selected in the first round, falling at No. 22 overall to the St. Louis Rams. SB Nation pegs Lacy as a second-rounder, going at No. 48 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and as the second running back off the board behind Giovani Bernard (No. 37 overall, Cincinnati Bengals).
The award for the player causing the most disagreement, however, goes to Syracuse offensive guard/tackle Justin Pugh, who checks in as first-rounder according to McShay (No. 26, Green Bay Packers), and a third- rounder according to SB Nation (No. 70, Tennessee Titans), a difference of 44 draft spots.
