Jeff Garcia doesn't see much of a future for Tim Tebow with the New York Jets. The four-time Pro Bowler doesn't think Tebow is a real competitor in the Jets' quarterback battle and if Garcia was in charge, the team would cut Tebow before April 15.
Jets should release Tim Tebow before April 15, Jeff Garcia says
Is Tim Tebow worth the circus he brings? Jeff Garcia doesn’t think so.

“If there’s going to be competition at the position, it’s not going to come from Tim Tebow,” Garcia told USA TODAY Sports. “Having Tebow there (last season) just became more of a distraction, more of a circus show. Obviously, it’s their decision. But from an outsider looking in, having Tebow there doesn’t bring anything positive. It just brings distraction.”
Garcia has been working with Mark Sanchez, helping him learn the West Coast offense, but this is still the same Sanchez that was an unmitigated disaster a year ago. If Sanchez slips again, Garcia thinks David Garrard or Greg McElroy will be the quarterbacks in the running to take over as the Jets starter, essentially making Tebow the fourth quarterback in New York.
The Jets begin offseason workouts on April 15 and Garcia doesn’t think Tebow is worth the distraction once the team is together and working out again. If he’s the fourth-string quarterback, it’s tough to argue that he is worth the perceived distraction.
