Browns draft rumors: Geno Smith, Dee Milliner believed to be on Cleveland’s board

The Browns are finalizing their draft board in anticipation of the 2013 NFL Draft. Geno Smith and Dee Milliner are considered finalists for the No. 6 overall pick, along with this year’s best pass rushers.

The start of the 2013 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away, and the Cleveland Browns are winnowing down their draft board, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Cabot listed 10 players who the Browns may be interested in with the No. 6 overall pick in the first round, or who could be available if the Browns decide to trade down. Among the names: West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith and Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner.

Cabot also mentioned quarterbacks Matt Barkley, E.J. Manuel and Ryan Nassib, though only Smith has consistently gone in the Top 10 of mock drafts among this year's signal callers. Barkley has been mentioned by some as perhaps the best passer in this year's draft class, and would likely be considered less of a reach at No. 6 than Manuel or Nassib.

Milliner was the first non-quarterback that Cabot mentioned, and indeed he has been a popular name to connect with the Browns leading up to the draft. Milliner is currently the Browns' first pick in SB Nation's latest mock draft. Behind him, however, Cabot lists a series of talented pass rushers. Dion Jordan and Ezekiel Ansah have consistently been mentioned among the best of this year's draft class and may not last until the No. 6 pick. LSU's Barkevious Mingo could be available even if the Browns traded down, however. The Browns have already worked him out, and may already be sold on his athleticism.

Cabot also mentions West Virginia wide receiver Tavon Austin and Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd as potential wild cards. Neither player is at a position of dire need (at least, not compared to quarterback or cornerback), but both have a lot of upside. Austin could potentially be drafted after trading down, but the Browns would likely have to commit the No. 6 pick if they wanted to snag Floyd.
