Matt Scott once took a redshirt year to let Nick Foles assume the starting quarterback role at Arizona. Heading into the 2013 NFL Draft, however, scouts are saying that Scott may ultimately be a better pro player than the Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback. As one regional scout told National Football Post: "I think he is a better prospect than Nick Foles. He has all the tools, throws a beautiful ball and has a lot of upside."

According to at least one scout, Matt Scott is a better NFL Draft prospect than former Arizona teammate and current Eagles quatrerback Nick Foles.

Scott is currently ranked as SB Nation’s No. 9 quarterback prospect for this year’s draft class. He has a lot of upside, not just because of his arm, but also due his excellent mobility. Under Rich Rodriguez, Scott got plenty of experience running the read-option, which is becoming an increasingly popular staple of NFL offenses.
Foles was drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Scott will be looking at a similar selection, at best, if current projections are any indication. While this year’s quarterback class isn’t particularly strong at the top, it is relatively deep with second-tier talent. Very likely, Scott will have to wait until Day 3 to hear his name called, but he has the tools to be a strong NFL contributor down the line.
