The New York Giants started their offseason training activities on Monday and wide receiver Victor Cruz was not present, according to Jenny Vrentas.
Victor Cruz misses start of Giants’ offseason activities
The Giants are starting their season today without Victor Cruz.

Cruz is a restricted free agent, meaning that he is under the Giants control but technically does not have a contract. Another team is allowed to sign Cruz to an offer sheet, with New York having a week to match the offer or let Cruz go for a first-round pick.
It makes sense for Cruz not to show up to any activities until he is under contract. Should Cruz participate and get injured, he’s not covered and could be left twisting in the wind.
The wide receiver known for his salsa dancing also made waves recently by changing agents, signing on with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation group, making many believe Cruz wants to stay in he Big Apple.
Cruz finished last season with 82 catches for 1,092 yards and ten touchdowns for the Giants.
