New York Jets right tackle Austin Howard has reported for offseason training, and will reportedly sign his restricted free agent tender on Monday, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

The right tackle is reportedly in New York for the beginning of the team’s offseason training program, and should sign his RFA tender on Monday.

Howard received a second-round tender back in early March, meaning another NFL team would have to give up a second-round draft pick in order to sign him. His contract tender is a one-year contract worth $2 million.
Howard started all 16 games at right tackle for the Jets in 2012, taking the starting job after Wayne Hunter was demoted right before the season started. He’s certainly not an All-Pro, but Howard has developed into a serviceable offensive lineman, who is certainly good enough to hold down the position until the Jets find a long-term solution at the position.
