Danny Amendola pledges support for Boston Marathon bombing victims

Amendola caught 63 passes for the Rams, despite suffering a dislocated clavicle that allowed him to make just eight starts.

One of the newest members of the New England Patriots, wide receiver Danny Amendola, made a pledge on Twitter to support the victims of the bombings at the 2013 Boston Marathon.

Amendola, 27, shouldn't have much trouble fronting the bill after he was signed by the Patriots to a five-year deal worth $28.5 million with a $6 million signing bonus. If he can manage to stay healthy, there's also reason to believe that Amendola will be a very productive receiver for the Patriots following the departure of Wes Welker.

In 2012, Amendola led all St. Louis Rams receivers with 63 receptions, despite missing five games and eight starts due to a dislocated clavicle. In the season prior, he caught just five passes after a triceps injury in Week 1 forced him to have season-ending surgery.

While his career-high is 85 receptions from the 2010 season when he was able to play a full, 16-game season with the Rams, Amendola could push for 100 receptions in the Tom Brady-led Patriots offense. In six seasons with the Patriots, Welker averaged 112 receptions per season.

Multiple explosions occurred at the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon on Monday, killing three and wounding several.
