Margus Hunt will stay with the Indianapolis Colts for a two-day pre-NFL Draft visit beginning Tuesday, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The SMU defensive end is considered one of the more physically gifted athletes in the 2013 draft class, though he is considered a borderline first-round prospect at best by many.

The Colts don’t own a second-round pick, so they would have to select Hunt at No. 24 overall or hope he falls to No. 84 in the third round if they don’t pull off a trade. Hunt is projected to fall right between the two selections at No. 60 overall in SB Nation’s three-round mock draft. A first-round selection would be considered a reach, but Hunt could be worth it based on how he has tested in the offseason.
Hunt wowed scouts with his tremendous straight-line speed and strength at the 2013 NFL Combine. His 4.6-second run in the 40-yard dash and 38 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press were among the best numbers at his position.
Hunt is still very raw, however. A former track and field star, Hunt didn’t start playing football until 2009. He didn’t take over a starting role until his senior year, though he had a tremendous impact on the field, racking up 31 tackles, 11.5 for loss, eight sacks and an interception. Hunt is certainly a project, but his athleticism combined with a fearsome 6’8, 277-pound frame could make him a star at the next level.
The Colts would be a great fit for Hunt on paper, given the void that Dwight Freeney's departure left for a true pass rusher. The organization now needs to weigh whether Hunt's potential is worth the team's only pick in the first two rounds.
