Despite months of speculation that he would be traded or released this offseason, Tim Tebow is still a member of the New York Jets. Like the other members of the Jets, Tebow reported for mini camp this week, and the Jets said they are happy to have him.
Jets GM ‘happy’ to have Tim Tebow at minicamp
Many thought Tim Tebow and the Jets would part ways this offseason, but Tebow is still in New York, and the Jets are saying they are happy to have him.

“We’re happy to have Tim here,” New York general manager John Idzik said, via Manish Mehta. “He’s with the rest of the gang here.”
The Jets acquired Tebow last offseason, but after a tumultuous season, most expected Tebow and New York to part ways. His departure could still happen soon, however, regardless of what Idzik says. New York is planning to release Tebow following the NFL Draft, according to a report. The Jets have shopped him on the trade market this offseason and they could be waiting until after the draft to see if any last minute interest develops.
New York traded a fourth- and sixth-round pick for Tebow and a seventh-round pick. After a rough season on the field, in which he was used more on special teams than at quarterback, there has been little trade interest this offseason. Mini camps are voluntary and while some players have workout bonuses in their contracts, Tebow had no financial incentive to attend, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York.
