Kyle Long is going to be taken in the 2013 NFL Draft. The only question is when.
2013 NFL Draft: Kyle Long has a lot of off-field baggage, according to scouts
With the NFL Draft a mere four days away, every prospect is having his life exposed and picked apart in the war rooms. Long is certainly no exception.

The son of Hall-of-Fame defensive end Howie Long and brother of St. Louis Rams standout Chris, Kyle Long is an offensive tackle with promise from the Oregon Ducks program who is looking to make a name for himself. However, he'll have to overcome the baggage that is following him from his past, according to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal-Sentinel.
Long bounced around in college, originally attending Florida State in 2008 before taking a year off. He then played at a California junior college before starring under Chip Kelly at Oregon last year.
He was arrested in 2009 for drunk driving and checked into rehab for drugs, something that still worries scouts despite being clean for two years. One scout talked in the article about how important it is that Long has a good family, something that will help a team quell its fears.
“He could be a first-rounder athletically, but it’s just all the baggage off the field. The only thing that’s a saving grace for the guy is everybody knows his dad. And they’re going to think, ‘OK, he’s Howie’s son. I can trust him. I know these people.’ But can you ever really trust?”
With only a few more days until Radio City Music Hall, we’ll find out.
