The New York Jets could make another trade soon, as they are expected to deal for New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. The Jets will reportedly send a fifth-round pick in this year's draft to New Orleans in exchange for Ivory, upping their previous offer of a sixth-round pick.
Chris Ivory trade expected soon between Jets, Saints
The Jets look like they’re close to adding some badly needed running back depth by trading for Chris Ivory of the Saints.

Speculation has been hot for the past week that the Jets want Ivory. He is a restricted free agent and he visited New York earlier this April. But the Jets ultimately didn’t sign him to an offer sheet, likely due to his second-round tender. He re-signed with the Saints last week, and the general expectation was that he would be dealt to the Jets shortly thereafter.
Ivory just completed his third year in the NFL after being undrafted out of Division II Tiffin University. He has only appeared in 24 games over that span, but has a career average of 5.1 yards per carry and could give the Jets backfield some badly needed depth. The team lost Shonn Greene to free agency earlier this year and only have Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight on the depth chart at the moment. The Saints, meanwhile, have the luxury to deal Ivory due to their depth at the position, as he's currently behind Darren Sproles, Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas.
