Will the Buffalo Bills be the first team to select a quarterback in Thursday's draft? It is possible, but as to who that player could be, it seems a mystery. There were conflicting reports on Wednesday regarding the Bills pre-draft thoughts on the quarterbacks in this draft class, and we might not be any closer to the facts until Buffalo makes their selection.
NFL Draft rumors: Bills linked to Ryan Nassib, Matt Barkley
Buffalo could change the course of the draft in a lot of ways depending on who they pick and if they stand with the eighth pick. Can either of these rumors be trusted?

Which rumor seems the most plausible at the moment?
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on NFL 32 that the Bills are “more likely than not” to take Ryan Nassib with the no. 8 pick in the draft. Buffalo’s head coach Doug Marrone was Nassib’s coach at Syracuse and the natural connection between the two has been made for quite some time, but Mortensen’s assertion that Nassib could be “the first quarterback chosen in this draft” would come as a surprise.
Not only to Geno Smith, the longtime “consensus” top quarterback available this year, but also to Peter King of Sports Illustrated, since King said on Wednesday that the Bills really like USC quarterback Matt Barkley. So is it “more likely than not” that the Bills like Nassib over all the other quarterbacks, or is it Barkley that they covet? Will they take a quarterback at all in the first?
The rumors regarding which quarterbacks could go to which teams and at what selection, be it the first round or a later round, have been all over the board. So it’s no surprise that there are conflicting reports on Wednesday. We likely won’t know the truth until the Bills pick is at the podium.
