Report: Branden Albert trade on hold until after 1st round

Any deal involving Albert could be pushed until Friday amid rumors that the Chiefs have also made their choice for the No. 1 pick.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins have reportedly been talking about a Branden Albert trade for weeks, so what would one more day be? Clark Judge of CBS Sports tweeted out that the deal would be "on hold" until after the first round so that the Dolphins could see how Thursday plays out. Since speculation is that Miami would give up no greater than a second-round pick, the Dolphins and Chiefs do not appear to be in a rush to get a deal done before Thursday's draft starts.

Kansas City should be more inclined to deal Albert to the Dolphins if rumors that they have decided on Central Michigan tackle Eric Fisher are true. Others have speculated that Fisher could play right tackle for one or two years while adjusting to the NFL, letting Albert keep his job as the left tackle, but we might not find out if that is the plan until Friday at the earliest.

As of now, the Dolphins seem content to sit this out for awhile.
