Branden Albert trade to Miami Dolphins still possible

The Miami Dolphins traded up to the No. 3 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, but the did not select an offensive tackle, so will they still land Branden Albert

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

The Miami Dolphins traded up to the No. 3 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, but their potential trade for Chiefs tackle Branden Albert is still alive. Miami selected Dion Jordan with the No. 3 pick, and in exchange they sent the No. 12 and No. 42 pick to the Oakland Raiders.

Miami kept the No. 54 pick, which could be instrumental in a potential trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for Albert. When the Dolphins traded up for the No. 3 pick the common thought was that they would select offensive tackle Lane Johnson, but they opted for the outside linebacker Jordan.

The Dolphins still desperately need a left tackle with the loss of Jake Long this offseason and they have been in talks with Kansas City to acquire Albert. The Chiefs selected tackle Eric Fisher with the first overall pick in the draft, another sign that they are willing to part with Albert for the right price. The two sides agreed to table their trade talks until after the first round, but with Miami still holding the No. 54 pick and still in need of a left tackle, the Albert trade is very much alive.
