NFL Draft picks 2013: Raiders, Eagles and Browns make picks in 3rd round

The Raiders, Eagles and Browns all bolstered their defense with their picks in the third round of the NFL Draft.

David Butler II-US PRESSWIRE

With the 66th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders added versatile linebacker Sio Moore from the University of Connecticut. The Eagles drafted LSU defensive tackle Bennie Logan with the 67th pick, and the Browns took cornerback Leon McFadden out of San Diego State with the 68th pick.

Moore is a versatile linebacker who has the ability to both rush the passer and be effective in coverage. He lacks the elite speed necessary to be a consistent pass rusher at the NFL level, but he tackles well and has the athleticism to make plays. Moore averaged over 15.5 tackles for a loss over the past two seasons, and had at least 72 total tackles in each of the past three seasons for the Huskies.

Logan was awarded LSU’s storied No.18 jersey as a mark of respect he commanded in the locker room. A high-effort player, he’ll need to develop more moves to be a pass-rushing force at the next level. His two sacks could be a product of being flanked by two top defensive ends, but more often than not, he was unable to finish in the backfield.

McFadden was very productive throughout his college career, even after switching to cornerback from receiver during his freshman season. He had at least 12 pass breakups in each of his final three seasons, and seven total interceptions over that span. During his senior year, he returned two of this three interceptions for touchdown to go along with 55 total tackles (seven for loss) and a sack.
