Steelers reportedly shopping RB Jonathan Dwyer

Pittsburgh has its new back in Le’Veon Bell, and now is looking to trade Dwyer.

The Pittsburgh Steelers made a splash in the 2013 NFL Draft when they took Michigan State Spartans running back Le'Veon Bell in the second round.

Now, the Steelers are reportedly looking to trade their old running back Jonathan Dwyer, according to Daniel Jeremiah.

Dwyer played quite a bit last season for Pittsburgh while Rashard Mendenhall was returning from a torn ACL suffered against the Cleveland Browns in December of 2011. Last year, Dwyer amassed 623 yards on 4.0 yards per carry while scoring twice.

Dwyer also provides a nice option in the passing game, swinging out of the backfield to make 18 catches in 2012.

Only 23 years old, Dwyer offers a nice trade chip for the Steelers that could garner a mid-round pick going into next year’s draft.

It will be intriguing to see if some team decides to try and pull off a deal during the NFL Draft on Saturday, where hope and picks are abundant.
