The Green Bay Packers have placed running back James Starks on the trading block, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The move comes during day three of the 2013 NFL Draft, where the Packers have made some corresponding moves to make Starks expendable.
Packers reportedly place James Starks on trade block
After drafting Eddie Lacy and Johnathan Franklin, the Green Bay Packers have reportedly placed running back James Starks on the trade block.

Those moves come in the form of former Alabama running back Eddie Lacy and former UCLA running back Johnathan Franklin, who were selected in the second and fourth rounds by the Packers, respectively.
Lacy and Franklin were considered two of the top running backs in the class, with the former considered the most-talented, though injury concerns pushed him down to the second running back selected, behind Giovani Bernard.
Starks has played well for the Packers in the past, rushing for 578 yards off of 133 carries in 2011. Unfortunately, the Packers lost him when they needed him the most last season due to injury, and Starks only played in six games, with 255 yards and a touchdown off of 71 carries.
If Starks is dealt, it’s likely it will only be for a late-round draft pick in 2014, though if a team is really interested in guaranteeing they snare Starks, a sixth- or seventh-round pick for the ongoing draft is certainly a possibility.
