Clemson running back Andre Ellington finally got drafted near the end of the sixth round, when the Cardinals took him with the 187th pick. In other draft action, the Raiders selected another tight end to complement Nick Kasa, while the Saints and Cowboys added some pieces on defense.
2013 NFL Draft results: Andre Ellington finally comes off the board
Andre Ellington’s long wait is over after the Cardinals took him with the 187th pick.

Let’s recap the 183rd to 187th picks:
183, New Orleans Saints: Rufus Johnson, DE, Tarleton State
Standing tall at 6’4, 266 pounds, Johnson ran a 4.75 at his Tarleton State pro day and had a 34 1/2 inch vertical leap. The Saints evidently like his measurables enough to take a late-round flier on the Division II prospect.
184, Oakland Raiders: Mychal Rivers, TE, Tennessee
Rivera is a versatile receiver with experience lining up all over the field. With the Volunteers he would line up in-line, in he slot, and in the backfield. Rivera’s hands are his best attribute, but he also has good athleticism and the ability to break tackles and rack up yards after the catch.
He is a decent blocker, but could be a lot more consistent. He would improve if he added a bit more mass, but his frame won’t support much more bulk. Rivera is certainly a pass catching tight end first and a blocker second.
185, Dallas Cowboys: DeVonte Hollman, OLB, Syracuse
Holloman began his college career as a safety, but played a hybrid safety-linebacker position for the Gamecocks in 2012, which played well to his size and athleticism. As you would expect, he moves well in space and plays well in coverage. He’ll need to be more physical as a linebacker at the next level, but it’s still a position that he’s growing into. Playing as a “spur” in 2012, Holloman did a little bit of everything, racking up 55 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, two sacks, and three interceptions.
186, Pittsburgh Steelers: Justin Brown, WR, Oklahoma
Transferred to Oklahoma after the Penn State debacle. Was productive at Penn State and was a consistent contributor at his new school. Brown stands 6’3, 207 pounds and at his Pro Day ran the 40 in 4.60 seconds. More importantly though, his 1.55 10-yard split and 6.96 3-cone time show elite burst and get off, and that’s probably a big reason he was used extensively as a punt returner in college.
187, Arizona Cardinals: Andre Ellington, RB, Clemson
Though he is undersized, Ellington doesn’t show much fear when attacking the line in a single-back formation, and uses his speed and agility to dart through specifically small holes that otherwise would slow down larger backs.
