The 7th round of the 2013 NFL Draft continues. The prospects from the small schools are starting to get picked up now. The Steelers took Samford DT Nicholas Williams. The Browns rolled the dice on Garrett Gilkey, who came from the same school as Danny Woodhead. Meanwhile, Green Bay added another receiver, and the Giants took a MAC guard.

223, Pittsburgh Steelers: Nicholas Williams, DT, Samford
Standing in at 6’5, 309 pounds, the former Samford prospect flashed some impressive athleticism with a 4.84 40 and 33 inch vertical leap. He had eight sacks in his senior year. The kind of raw small-school prospect that’s a dime a dozen in the 7th round.
224, Green Bay Packers: Kevin Dorsey, WR Maryland
Dorsey had only 18 catches in 2012, but he was a victim of Maryland’s QB woes. Dorsey is 6’2, 207 pounds and ran a 4.48.
225, New York Giants: Eric Herman, OG, Ohio
Eric Herman will be one of those under-the-radar offensive guards that might sneak past most eyes, but as a MAC talent there is definitely a lot to watch out for. Herman proved to be a pancake machine in the MAC, putting defenders on their back with increasing regularity. Herman also was good at knockdowns and decleats and was the most productive players on the team.
226, New England Patriots: Michael Buchanan, DE, Illinois
Buchanan’s strength is his length. At 6’5 and with long arms, he’s got great size for the defensive end spot. And he’s got enough speed to run past linemen. But he doesn’t have the strength, especially not after losing weight -- if NFL tackles get their hands on him, they’ll be able to take him out of the play relatively easily. His combination of speed and lankiness means he might be a better fit for an outside linebacker spot than a defensive end.
227, Cleveland Browns: Garrett Gilkey, OG, Chadron State
Gilkey hopes to follow in Danny Woodhead's footsteps as a fellow Chadron State alumni to make it in the NFL. He's a monster at 6'6, 318 pounds. A dominant left tackle in Division II, he will have to be kicked inside on the line.
