The 2013 NFL Draft is in the books, and it’s time to look back and see how the teams did. Obviously, it’s difficult to draw a conclusive grade before the players even get on the field, but some teams look like they got better value for their picks than others. Let’s look at how the AFC East did on Saturday.
2013 NFL Draft grades: AFC East earns passing marks
Sharp teams can find good value on day three of the NFL Draft. Let’s take a look and see how the four AFC East teams did on Saturday.

The Bills addressed their secondary depth on the third day of the draft after looking mostly to offense on the first two days. They took safety Duke Williams from Nevada in the fourth round, and safety Jonathan Meeks from Clemson in the fifth round. Buffalo then went to special teams, taking Florida State kicker Dustin Hopkins in the sixth round, despite still having long-time kicker Rian Lindell. They finished up their draft with athletic Arkansas tight end Chris Gragg in the seventh round, which addresses a need position for them with Scott Chandler injured.

The Dolphins went heavy on Florida Gators on Saturday, taking linebacker Jelani Jenkins, running back Mike Gillislee, and kicker Caleb Sturgis in the fourth, sixth, and sixth rounds, respectively. They also added tight end Dion Sims out of Michigan State, and strong safety Don James from Western Kentucky. All in all, Miami added good talent that could contribute quickly in the draft's final rounds.

New England had a relatively quiet third day with only three picks, but managed to pick up some talented kids that slipped down the board. In the fourth round, they added TCU wide receiver Josh Boyce, then took Illinois defensive end Michael Buchanan and Rutgers linebacker Steve Beauharnais in the seventh round. Three of New England's seven picks this year came from Rutgers.
CBS: C-
The Jets only had three picks on Saturday, and picked up some projects on the way. Their fifth-round pick, Virginia offensive tackle Oday Aboushi, has the size and talent to be a contributor, but is still very raw. Defensive tackle William Campbell out of Michigan was the team's sixth-round pick, and Wake Forest fullback Tommy Bohanon was picked in the seventh round. None of them are likely to make an impact in 2013.
