Undrafted free agents 2013: Broncos add QB Ryan Katz, WR Quincy McDuffie, among others

The Broncos added depth at quarterback, wide receiver and elsewhere among their 15 undrafted free agent signings.

The Denver Broncos have been busy signing undrafted free agents following the completion of the 2013 NFL Draft. San Diego State quarterback Ryan Katz and Central Florida wide receiver Quincy McDuffie are among the 15 players who have been added to the Broncos' roster, according to the SB Nation blog Mile High Report

Katz, along with seventh-round draft pick Zac Dysert, will look to make the team roster as backups at quarterback. Katz had an interesting college career. He started as a sophomore at Oregon State and played well, but struggles early in his junior season saw him benched.

He transferred to San Diego State for his senior campaign and played well through eight games, completing nearly 61 percent of his passes for 1,348 yards and 13 touchdowns to four interceptions. Katz’s season ended when he fractured his ankle in October, however. He did not make an appearance at the NFL Combine or during All-Star games.

McDuffie has the potential to be a difference maker. He was arguably snubbed when he didn't receive an invite to the Combine. McDuffie checks in at just 5'9, 176 pounds, but has incredible speed. He returned six kickoff returns for touchdowns during his career, including three during his senior season. He averaged 34 yards on 17 returns last season. While Trindon Holliday is an excellent return man, it makes sense why the Broncos were enticed.

Here is the rest of Denver’s UDFA class. You can check out reaction at Mile High Report:
