2013 undrafted free agent signings: Wide receivers highlight Redskins’ class

Robert Griffin III needs playmakers in Washington, and the Redskins added four wide receivers amongst 18 undrafted free agents.

John Rieger-US PRESSWIRE

The Washington Redskins added a whopping 18 undrafted free agents after the conclusion of the 2013 NFL Draft, including a slew of wide receivers as the team searches for playmakers in the second year of the RGIII era.

After a draft where the Redskins didn’t have a first-round pick, the team focused on a few positions with their crop of undrafted free agents as they hope to create some competition. Their 18-man haul included four wide receivers, four offensive linemen and four linebackers.

Wide receiver is perhaps the most interesting. After Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan, the team’s depth at the wide receiver spot falls off steeply, as they’re banking on contributions from Leonard Hankerson, Dezmond Briscoe and Santana Moss, who can best be described as “elderly” at this point in his NFL career. And so the team added some interesting athletic prospects at the spot. Skye Dawson is just 5’9, but he’s a speedster who is reminiscent of fellow TCU product Jeremy Kerley. Jason Thompson is 6’3 and fast, but didn’t really get an opportunity to shine at the University of New Haven. Josh Jarboe was a factor in Gus Malzahn’s up-tempo offense at Arkansas State. And Chip Reeves is one of two Troy players in the UDFA class the Redskins brought in.

Here’s a full look at everybody the team signed:
