The San Diego Chargers added a host of undrafted free agents, with 20 players who slipped through the cracks of the 2013 NFL Draft joining the squad in hopes of making the roster.
2013 NFL undrafted free agents: Kwame Geathers, Byron Jerideau add nose tackle depth to Chargers
The San Diego Chargers need options to fill up the middle of their 3-4 defense, and Kwame Geathers and Byron Jerideau bring indisputable size and strength, making them possibilities to make the roster as undrafted free agents.

The position where the Chargers added the most prospects is defensive back, adding four players: Marcus Cromartie, a speedster who ran a 4.35 40 at Wisconsin’s pro day, Purdue’s Josh Johnson, Central Michigan’s Jaheel Addae and Wake Forest’s Kenny Okoro.
But nose tackle is the position where the Chargers are most likely to find someone who sticks. With only one player, Cam Thomas, listed as a defensive tackle on the team’s roster, San Diego is strapped for run-stopping types who can clog up the middle of their 3-4 defense. They picked up two players capable of providing depth, or even pushing for the starting spot, at the position. The most notable is Georgia’s Kwame Geathers, a 6’5, 342-pounder who was hidden behind John Jenkins in college and surprised many by coming out a year early. But he has incredible size and NFL bloodlines. His brother, Robert, was in the NFL for a pretty long time. They also add Byron Jerideau from South Carolina, smaller at just - just - 6’1, 316 pounds, but he makes up for his lack of size with his strength. He’s capable of benching 500 pounds and squatting 670.
