The Kansas City Chiefs took Central Michigan left tackle Eric Fisher with the top pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, but head coach Andy Reid refused to concretely say where Fisher would play on Kansas City's offensive line. When speaking to the media after the draft, Reid said, "It doesn't bother me where he plays because he's a good football player. I pick the five best guys and put them up there and the position doesn't matter to me. It never has."

It would be unorthodox for the Chiefs to take Fisher with the first pick and not play him at left tackle, but the team still has left tackle Branden Albert. Kansas City was unable to trade Albert before or during the draft, but he's still on the trade block and could reportedly be had for a second round pick in next year's draft. The Miami Dolphins have been strongly linked to Albert, but the Detroit Lions, San Diego Chargers, and Arizona Cardinals have also showed some level of interest.
