The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets continue to discuss a trade for Darrelle Revis, but if a deal for the cornerback is going to happen, it may need to occur soon.
Darrelle Revis trade rumors: Time to make a deal running out
Rumors of the relocation of Revis Island have gone on for months, but a conclusion could come sooner rather than later.

Revis is coming off a major knee injury and the Bucs will likely want to conduct an extensive medical exam prior to finalizing the deal. According to Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times, that medical exam could be lengthy and include multiple doctors in various cities. As a result, Tampa Bay will need time to process the medical exam, meaning the deal may need to be agreed on a week or more before the NFL Draft on April 25.
Even if you assume Revis will be given a clean bill of health, it remains to be seen if the Jets and Bucs can agree to compensation. New York is reportedly intent on receiving the No. 13 pick in the 2013 draft as part of any package. Previous reports indicated Tampa Bay was willing to trade a first-round pick in 2014, but was hesitant to give up its 2013 first-round pick. According to a report from Pewter Report, the Buccaneers are now unsure if they are willing to give up a first-round pick at all, either in 2013 or 2014.
With the two sides apparently as far apart on a deal as ever and with time running out there is some serious question as to whether Revis will wind up in Tampa Bay after all.
