The Detroit Lions have signed defensive Ziggy Ansah to a five-year deal, according to the team's official site. Ansah was the fifth-overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, and despite being relatively new to football, was one of the best pure athletes in the entire draft. The financial details surrounding the deal have yet to be released.
Lions sign 1st-round pick Ziggy Ansah
The Lions have signed all nine of their 2013 draft picks.

This is the earliest the Lions have signed their top draft pick since 2009, when first-overall pick Matthew Stafford was signed prior to the draft taking place. The signing is notable for another reason, as it makes the Lions the first team in the NFL to sign all of their 2013 draft picks. Rookie minicamp begins on Friday, and all nine of the team's draft picks are expected to be in attendance.
Ansah is the second first-round pick from the 2013 draft to sign his contract, as the New Orleans Saints and Kenny Vaccaro signed a deal on Thursday.
