Brian Urlacher reportedly leaning toward Vikings

Brian Urlacher is deciding between the Broncos and Vikings. The latest report says that he is leaning toward the Vikings.

Free agent linebacker Brian Urlacher may be close to finding a new team, as a source told the Chicago Sun-Times' Michael Sneed that Urlacher is "leaning toward" signing with the Minnesota Vikings on a one- or two-year deal. He has also been talking with the Denver Broncos.

Urlacher parted ways with the Chicago Bears after a storied 13-year career. At 34, he's not the same player he was, putting up 68 tackles, 1 interception and 2 forced fumbles in 12 games last season.

The Vikings have a gaping hole at middle linebacker, despite not addressing the position in the NFL Draft. Currently Erin Henderson is penciled in as the starter, though Urlacher could handily take over that spot if the Vikings sign him. Minnesota has quite the rap for poaching franchise legends from divisional rivals, having also signed former Packer Brett Favre in 2009.
