Rolando McClain announces retirement from NFL

Rolando Mcclain’s disappointing NFL career comes to an end after just three seasons.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain has announced his retirement, ending a troubled NFL career at the age of 23. General manager Ozzie Newsome confirmed his announcement to the official website and placed him on the reserve/retired list.

McClain was signed by the Ravens in April after flaming out with the Oakland Raiders, but he got arrested just 10 days later for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. It was just the latest in a string of off-field problems that plagued McClain's short pro career.

While with the Raiders, McClain clashed with the coaching staff and spent the final five games of the 2012 season on the bench. He was arrested in January and later pleaded guilty to a window tint violation. McClain was also arrested in December 2011 and charged with third-degree assault.

A standout linebacker at Alabama, McClain was drafted by the Raiders with the No. 8 pick in 2010, He finishes his career with 244 tackles, 6.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble.
