New York Jets make front office changes

The Jets continue their front office makeover, letting go assistant GM Scott Cohen.

USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets made another round of front office changes on Wednesday. Assistant GM Scott Cohen's contract will not be renewed, according to Manish Mehta of the Daily News.

Cohen has been with the Jets since 2008, and when former GM Mike Tannenabaum was fired, he interviewed for the vacant position before owner Woody Johnson settled on John Idzik. Previously, Cohen spent time with the Redskins, Jaguars and Eagles.

That wasn’t the only personnel move Idzik made on Wednesday. Director of football administration Ari Nissm was also let go by Idzik. Mehta notes that he was Tannenbaum’s right hand man on contract negotiations.

In addition to these moves, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports that Idzik is expected to hire former Cardinals GM Rod Graves to join his staff. It's unclear what Graves' title will be at the moment. Idzik and Graves previously worked together at Arizona. The first-year GM is intent on cleaning out Tannenbaum's staff and bringing in his own guys.
