Johnson pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge against his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada in August and was sentenced to a year of probation. Missing an appointment with his probation officer is a violation of his probation.

Johnson, a former second-round pick out of Oregon State by the Bengals in 2001, was best known for putting Cincinnati back on the map, his exciting touchdowns dances and changing his name to Chad Ochocinco for a few seasons. However, after things seemingly went south with the Bengals, he was traded to the New England Patriots for a fifth-round pick in 2012 and a sixth-round pick in 2013. After an unsuccessful season in New England, he was released and signed with the Dolphins, but was released after his arrest.

Johnson has caught 766 passes for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns. He still holds Bengals franchise records for receiving yards and touchdown receptions. He has been out of the league and looking for work since the end of the 2011 season.
