OTAs didn't get off to a good start for Anthony McCoy as the Seahawks tight end was carted off the practice field on Monday due to an ankle injury.
Seahawks’ Anthony McCoy carted off with ankle injury
Seahawks tight end Anthony McCoy left OTA practice early as he was carted off the field with an injury.

McCoy suffered the injury late in practice when he was coming out of a cut during a 7-on-7 drill, according to Eric Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the severity of the injury is still unknown.
The 25-year-old McCoy served as Seattle’s No. 2 tight end last season. He finished the season with 18 receptions for 291 yards and three touchdowns. McCoy played a considerable number of snaps when Seattle utilized formations with two tight ends. He managed to stay relatively healthy over the last two seasons, playing in 32 regular season games and both of Seattle’s playoff contests.
While the Seahawks wait to determine the severity of McCoy’s injury, it could mean less of a learning curve for rookie Luke Wilson. Seattle drafted Wilson in the fifth round, mostly for his ability as a receiver. If McCoy’s injury turns out to be serious, the Seahawks may need Wilson to play an important role early in the season.
