Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank told NFL Network's Albert Breer that he would like to get a contract extension with quarterback Matt Ryan done "as soon as possible", preferably sometime before training camp starts.
Falcons owner Arthur Blank wants Matt Ryan extension ‘as soon as possible’
Arthur Blank would like to get Matt Ryan locked up to an extension before training camp.

Ryan, 28, is on the last year of the six-year, $66 million rookie deal he signed in 2008 after being drafted No. 3 overall. He is currently slated to make $10 million in the 2013 season.
There have been a slew of QB mega-deals made this offseason as teams are locking up their franchise stars. Joe Flacco (six years, $120.6), Aaron Rodgers (seven years, $130.75 million) and Tony Romo (seven years, $119.5 million) all inked deals to stay with their respective teams. Expect Ryan's eventual deal to be somewhere in that ballpark.
Ryan threw for 4,719 yards and 32 touchdowns while leading the Falcons to the NFC Championship Game last season.
