Seahawks waive Josh Portis after DUI arrest
The Seahawks didn’t wait long to clean up their off-field image, dumping Josh Portis just one day after a DUI arrest.

Portis was signed in 2011 as an undrafted free agent out of California (PA). He spent the entire year on the 53-man roster but never saw action in a regular season game. Portis was stashed on the practice squad in 2012.
Portis was already facing an uphill battle to make the roster, and with the Seahawks facing scrutiny for multiple PED suspensions, his arrest made it that much easier for the team to wash their hands of him. His court arraignment is scheduled for May 28. The Seahawks will move forward with Brady Quinn and Jerrod Johnson on the depth chart. Both men will be competing for the primary backup job behind Russell Wilson.
