Maurice Jones-Drew faces battery charges
MJD is facing battery charges after allegedly assaulting a security guard over the weekend.

According to a police report obtained by SB Nation’s Big Cat Country, Jones-Drew was involved in an altercation at the Conch House Restaurant in St. Augustine, Fla. When security tried to break up the fight, Jones-Drew allegedly struck a guard on the left side of his face with a closed fist, knocking him out. He left the scene before police arrived. The victim was hospitalized with a swollen jaw.
Witnesses say that the incident started when restaurant staff told one of Jones-Drew’s friends to stop touching a young female guest. The friend then put his hands on the staff member’s chest, and that’s when the pushing and pulling started. One of the guards reportedly put Jones-Drew’s friend in a headlock, and that’s when Jones-Drew allegedly struck him in the face.
No arrests have been made. Neither Jones-Drew nor the Jaguars have made a comment at this time.
