The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed veteran cornerback Marcus Trufant, as first reported by Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union and subsequently confirmed by the team. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed at this moment.

The Jaguars added a veteran to their young secondary, agreeing to terms with former Seahawk Marcus Trufant.

Trufant, 32, was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2003 and spent his entire career with the team. He made the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team in 2007. Trufant's role with the team was shrinking in recent years, however, as age and injuries caught up with him. He played just 16 games in the past two seasons. The Seahawks' signing of Antoine Winfield signaled that they were ready to move on.
Trufant's skills have been declining, but he's familiar with coach Gus Bradley's system and will be a veteran presence to a young secondary. He will compete for playing time with Dwayne Gratz, Alan Ball and Mike Harris. To make room for Trufant on the roster, the team released cornerback Antwaun Molden.
