The Carolina Panthers are in one of the toughest divisions in football with an improved NFC South staring them in the face.
Cam Newton losing weight to help improve his game
Carolina’s signal-caller is looking to alter his performance by losing a few pounds in the offseason.

Quarterback Cam Newton is doing his part to step up his game, saying he is losing weight this offseason to help change his style, according to ESPN.com.
Newton had a good second season, even if he was overshadowed by one of the more incredible rookie classes in the history of the NFL with Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson leading the way.
Last year, Newton only threw 12 interceptions while tossing 19 touchdowns and rushing for eight more.
However, it wasn’t as electrifying as his rookie campaign, which is making people wonder if Newton has shown enough progress.
Newton didn’t expound on how much weight he lost, but it’s safe to say he’s looking to shed a few pounds to become a bit lighter on his feet in the pocket should things break down.
