Seahawks defensive end Greg Scruggs underwent arthroscopic surgery to reconstruct the torn ACL in his right knee Thursday, according to Eric Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune. The injury occurred prior to this year's NFL Draft.

Scruggs, now in his second year, is in jeopardy of missing the entire 2013 season. He played sparingly as a rookie, seeing a total of 257 snaps throughout 2012. He came up with two hurries on Matt Ryan in Seattle’s divisional playoff loss to Atlanta, according to Pro Football Focus.
With the injury coming early in 2013, Scruggs is likely to spend the upcoming season on injured reserve or the PUP list. He will now attempt to work his way back into the Seahawks’ defensive rotation.
Seattle shouldn't worry too much about depth on the defensive line. There are still eight healthy defensive tackles on the 90-man roster. Scruggs lined up in that position for most of his playing time last year. Plus, adding big names like Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett in free agency means the outside is secure as well.
