The St. Louis Rams knew they would be hearing about Isaiah Pead getting suspended, according to Ian Rapoport.
Isaiah Pead suspension: Rams have known about the issue for a while
St. Louis will be without its second-year running back for a game.

Pead was nabbed by the NFL for substance abuse, resulting in the one-game suspension that will keep him out of the season opener. This is an obvious setback for a player hoping to rebound from a tough rookie season after being drafted out of the University of Cincinnati in 2012.
In his rookie campaign, Pead only carried the ball ten times and failed to make any kind of an impact for an improved Rams team that won six games in the tough NFC West.
Pead's role figures to be expanded with long-time St. Louis star Steven Jackson now with the Atlanta Falcons. Pead will be trying to become the starting back with his main competition being Daryl Richardson and Terrance Ganaway, who is also in his second year.
