Speaking with the media for the first time since signing quarterback Tim Tebow, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick continued to reiterate that he thinks Tebow has a place in the NFL.
Bill Belichick: Tim Tebow is a ‘talented player’
Patriots coach Bill Belichick signed Tim Tebow to play quarterback and continued to say that he’s a “talented player.”

“Tim is a talented player, is smart and works hard. We’ll see how it goes”, Belichick told reporters on Tuesday. He didn’t elaborate on what role Tebow will play with the team, but ESPN’s Chris Mortensen says that he will be the 3rd string quarterback for now.
The Patriots signed Tebow to a two-year contract. According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth the league minimum, with no signing bonuses or guarantees. He does have playing time incentives, but those won't kick in until 2014. Tebow has worn No. 15 for his entire three-year pro career, but since Ryan Mallett owns that number right now, he has been assigned No. 5 for minicamps.
In typical Belichick fashion, he cut off the Tebow questions early. “We’ve already talked enough about him. We’ll see how it goes, take it from here.”
