Jones pled not guilty to an assault charge after being arrested for an incident outside a bar Monday.

According to Jones’ agent, Peter Schaffer, Jones was approached by two intoxicated women outside a bar after a Cincinnati Reds game. They wanted their picture taken with him. When Jones refused, one of the women hit him with a beer bottle, which prompted Jones to immediately slap her. Video of the incident can be found here.
After the arrest, Jones took to Twitter to claim he was defending himself:
Just got arrestedfor protecting myself, I will not let this break me or change what I have work so hard for ....

Jones has been plagued with legal troubles his entire career since joining the NFL in 2005. He was suspended the entire 2007 season and part of 2008 for a series of arrests, and pleaded guilty in Jan. 2012 to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
The league has not issued a statement at this time, though NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told ESPN, “we’re aware of it and will review the facts at the appropriate time.”
