The Detroit Lions got some encouraging news on a pair of injured players heading into the first day of mandatory minicamps. According to the team's Twitter account, wide receiver Ryan Broyles and running back Mikel Leshoure both took part in team drills on Tuesday.
Lions news: Ryan Broyles, Mikel Leshoure return to practice
Lions fans get some good news on Tuesday. Ryan Broyles (ACL) and Mikel Leshoure (hamstring) are both taking part in minicamp.

Broyles tore his ACL last November, and while it's still not a guarantee that he will be ready for the regular season, his recovery is going well. He believes his knee is much stronger than it was before the injury, and he could play a bigger role in the offense with Titus Young long gone.
Leshoure has been dealing with a hamstring issue throughout the offseason, and sat out OTAs to do individual work. He was nominally the No. 1 back last season, running for 798 yards and nine touchdowns, but with Reggie Bush in town, Leshoure's role could be reduced to a change-of-pace or goal-line back. He was hampered by leg injuries for most of 2012.
Not all of the news was good, though. Safety Louis Delmas didn’t participate in drills due to balky knees, and he refused to discuss the injury with reporters, saying simply, “I don’t know what to tell you, I’ve been hurt.” Delmas missed 13 games over the past two seasons with lingering injuries, and it’s unknown if he will be 100 percent for training camp.
