Takeo Spikes visiting Rams, according to report
Takeo Spikes hopes to continue his long NFL career. He is visiting with the Rams on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Spikes, 36, spent the last two seasons with the San Diego Chargers. In 2012, he played in all 16 games and recorded 78 tackles, 0.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. The Chargers released him in the spring due to his age — he turned 36 in December — and salary. He was going to be a $3.7 million cap hit in 2013. The market has been quiet on him ever since then.
The Rams are set at the linebacker position with James Laurinaitis, Jo-Lonn Dunbar and Alec Ogletree, so if they do sign Spikes, it's unlikely to be anything more than depth. Spikes isn't the same player he used to be, and he may have to accept the league minimum if he wants to find a home in training camp.
